John Londono. Echoes of the Disposable

In the silent realm of photography, where images speak without words, we are confronted with a profound sense of voicelessness. Each captured moment mirrors our struggle to be heard in an increasingly dehumanized world. The series Echoes of the Disposable collects fragments of contemporary existence that reveal stark contrasts and unspoken narratives.

The word ‘disposable’ reflects the transient nature of our society and comments on our relationships with the self, others, and the environment. In an era of throwaway culture, this series challenges us to rethink our values. Some images are printed on PVC – an advertising material – emphasizing themes of superficiality and impermanence.

Yet the series dreams of a return to authenticity and harmony, where relationships are nurtured and our connection to the world is cherished. The analogue photographic aesthetic reflects on a loss of tangibility in the ephemeral digital age, where the impermanent attempts to endure.
